i think the blue panel helps make this piece! the last panel reminds me of stephen gammell who illustrated scary stories to tell in the dark

man i think you are by far the worst artist ive ever seen the most talentless hack ive ever encountered and this piece proves it go end it all now and save every viewer on deviant art that much pain.
Today is opposite day where i am so you can imagine what a huge compliment this must really be

You are brilliant, to be blunt. And I will be honest, I don't know all that much about visual art, I'm a writer, really, so I can't critique this or offer help as well as I'd like to.
All I can really say is that your work really moves me, I find it exciting and intriguiing and mysterious and original all at once. It inspires me to push my art and try to draw the things I'd like to, instead the things I feel that I can.
You already know what I think about the first panel. The other three are just as good.
I really like the way that not many of the lines are very definite, that they flow into the rest of the piece. It's especially effective on the cage, the technique really makes it look as though it's suspended over a very large space.
The roots coming out of the bottom of it look great too, and it's so cool how the figure was destroyed(Or maybe transformed) by the orb. The smile like piece falling from the cage stand out nicely, and is a very powerful image. I love how the mass inside the cage looks kind of like a cloud of flies/
Wow....

This is very cool, I like the concept behind it... it kind of reminds me of process of coming out of a depression... but it also seems like a real story, with real chracters, not just something that has been created to illustrate something else... very, very cool. Also incredibly visually pleasing... I agree with you that although the bottom-left panel is unorthadox and makes the whole thing seem a little unbalanced, it only does exactly what it should - because this comic shouldn't be balanced. It works much better that it seems slightly off-centre and strange. Plus, that panel is way too nice to lose. :+fav:!

This is very exciting - I have already faved the first panel, so I don't fav the whole page, but it's on the same level. The idea here is great, and the execution couldn't have been much better. Overall it's outstanding work. The balance of the whole page is a bit weird with that one blue panel in the corner, but that doesn't hurt it much.

I 've had second thoughts about that one too. this cold square brings the page's cross off balance. But there is something really weird about it that I like. Its the dream panel and I like it ignoring all the rules. Maybe tomorrow I regret it again... who knows?

Breaking the rules just for breaking them can be interesting too - at least one sees why the rules exist as they exist, and can perhaps understand them better in the future. Making mistakes is a part of making art and a part of learning, so making some isn't such a bad thing.
